Dear Family, Friends, and Customers:

I’ve signed up to rappel 140 feet down from the roof of THE TOWER in downtown Tuscaloosa on April 10th as part of Tuscaloosa Over the Edge. I am going Over the Edge for Tuscaloosa teenagers so I need to raise $1,000 or more by April 10th! I need you on my team to reach my goal.

Why would I do something so crazy? First, because it’ll be one heck of a view from up there. Second, because it’s not actually crazy, it’s completely safe. And third—most importantly—because I believe that every young person should hear the good news of Jesus Christ and have the chance to be in relationship with Him.

Tuscaloosa Youth for Christ exists for those far from God. Over 15,000 students attend more than 20 high schools and middle schools across the Tuscaloosa county area. The one thing all these young people share in common is the need for a personal relationship with Christ. Sadly, less than half of our youth ever set foot in a church, and we know that 90% of adults begin their walk with Christ before leaving high school. That data makes the mission of Youth for Christ clear.

This inspires me because I’m scared of heights and going over the EDGE is for me something that hopefully helps me to get over it. June 14th was my last day with MBUSI and I decided to stay in the U.S. and bring some German and European food culture to Tuscaloosa and Northport. I started with a food trailer and opened last November my Brick and Mortar store in Northport. Those almost two years were packed with ups and downs (more of the last once) and this major change in my life made me live on the EDGE and now I want to go over the EDGE to set a sign for young people and myself of leaving the downs behind me and help the Youth of Christ to look into a brighter future.

So I’m excited to both fundraise and rappel! My goal is to raise $1,000--enough to provide 60 students with a mentor for a month.

I would like to ask for your support by either joining my team to help me fundraise or by starting your own fundraising page, which will be your first step in rappelling yourself! Are you up for the challenge? If so, please join me. It’ll be simple and fun! Do you know others who are up to the challenge? If so please pass this information on to them so they can experience this once-in-a-lifetime event!

You can make a gift online at or you can mail a check (with my name in the memo field) to Tuscaloosa Youth for Christ, PO Box 1156, Tuscaloosa, Alabama 35403.

Thanks so much and I look forward to hearing from you soon!

Yours truly,
Rolf Meyer
